This study uses Cartesian plane geometry to model mitotic cells and describe mathematical methods based on this quantify chromosome misalignment measure kinetochore position metaphase plates. The method is adapted count lagging kinetochores in anaphase provide semiautomated, user-friendly ImageJ macros facilitate the operations.
